Jainism: A Non-Theistic Religion with Strict Principles
Today we will talk about the most convoluted religion. Some people say the most convoluted religion is Jainism Jainism does not worship any deity it is a non-theistic religion. Its followers refer to 24 spiritual leaders as Tirthankaras, with the last being Mahavir, whose teachings they follow. They create statues of these Tirthankaras and bow before them out of reverence, but they do not worship them.
its teachings include non-violence to the extent that they cannot harm even insects. That is why they do not eat animals and survive on vegetables, unable to obtain minerals derived from meat. Additionally, they believe in complete renunciation of desires, which means they avoid luxurious food and clothing. You can imagine how a person’s life can go on without eating good food and wearing fine clothes. This concept of non-violence and renunciation applies to everyone, whether ordinary or elite.
The sacred book of Jainism is Agam, which is based on the teachings of Mahavir. During worship, they wear white clothes; otherwise, they do not. This restriction is also imposed on them, which is why it is considered among the convoluted religions.
Islam: A Balanced and Practical Way of Life
If we look at the other side, the teachings of Islam are simpler and more balanced compared to all other religions. Modern humans can easily follow the teachings of Islam, as it provides guidance for an easy path in life. Islam’s teachings also emphasize peace and security. Similarly, according to Islamic teachings, all other creations are made for the benefit of humans. To fulfill human needs, Muslims are permitted to eat specific animals, just as they are allowed to eat vegetables. Likewise, certain acts of worship are obligatory for Muslims, but if someone is unable to perform them, special allowances are also provided. Along with religion, Islam also outlines principles for every aspect of life, such as buying and selling, marriage, dealings, and interpersonal relationships. These principles are explained with such detail and balance that no other religion offers the same.
Buddhism: Teachings of Siddhartha Gautama
Some people say that Buddhism is the most convoluted religion. Buddhism is an ancient religion founded by Siddhartha Gautama, who is known as Buddha. Its followers do not worship any deity, making it a non-theistic religion. However, they revere Gautama Buddha as a teacher and guide, and they follow his principles. They also create statues of Buddha and bow before them out of respect for him. The followers of Buddhism adopt Buddha’s teachings, such as the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. Their beliefs include karma and reincarnation, meaning actions influence future experiences, and rebirth will occur.
Hinduism: Ancient Beliefs and Diverse Traditions
Hinduism is also an ancient religion of the world, with various sects and traditions. Among their shared beliefs is the concept of Brahman. According to Hinduism, Brahman is an infinite and eternal reality that forms the foundation of the universe. Another belief they hold is the existence of multiple deities, including a god of creation, a god of preservation, and a god of destruction and recreation.
They are people who worship different gods and goddesses. Their belief system also includes the concepts of karma and reincarnation, meaning good deeds lead to a better birth, while bad deeds result in a worse life. This cycle continues until moksha is achieved. With moksha, the soul is freed and merges with Brahman.
Additionally, they also worship fire. Hinduism’s scriptures include the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Gita, and others.
Jainism and Buddhism are both often considered among the most convoluted religions. This claim is based on their teachings, and when it comes to beliefs and ideologies, they are also regarded as complex because they are categorized as non-theistic religions.
All creations—animals, mountains, oceans, marine life, the sun, and the moon rising and setting at their designated times, the systematic occurrence of day and night—necessitate the presence of a higher being. This can be understood through a simple example: even a house or a robot requires a human to design and create it. Therefore, the existence of a God to manage the world and its systems is essential.
Once it is established that a God is necessary, it is also clear that this God cannot be a human, as humans cannot even create a mosquito or anything akin to the natural creations around us.
Once it is established that God is not human, the question arises: how can one search for God? The answer to this question can only be provided by that religion which claims that God communicated with humans through a specific person. This is because humans themselves cannot search for God. However, God can reveal His existence and teachings to humans through a special person. That special person is known as a prophet or messenger.
Among these messengers, the first was Adam (peace be upon him) and the last is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The total number of prophets is approximately 124,000. Their message is the same because all of them were chosen by the one God to receive revelation, that is, the word of God. Their claim is that Allah is One, and He has no partner. He is the Creator of all beings, the One who gives life and causes death, and the One who provides sustenance to all.
Isa (peace be upon him) and Musa (peace be upon him) are also prophets of Allah, and revelations were sent to them, and they were given scriptures. This is confirmed by the Quran, as it affirms the previous scriptures. The Quran is the word of Allah, and there can be no change in it, whereas previous scriptures were altered by humans according to their desires, and their beliefs became distorted. They made Isa (peace be upon him) the son of Allah. Now, for guidance, only one book remains in its original form, and that is the Quran. After it, there will be no other book, and after Muhammad (peace be upon him), there will be no prophet. In the end, Islam is the only true and authentic religion.
